Pont du Gard

Another day trip...this time to the Pont du Gard outside Nimes.  An unbelievable Roman aqueduct with a river suitable for swimming underneath.  It was 95 degrees and the river turned out to be crystal clear and cool.  Meg and the kids took the opportunity to take a dip.

Walking across the aqueduct.

View from the Aqueduct to the river below.

The aqueduct was an absolute marvel and the museum was super high tech and really did a great job explaining the role of water in Roman cities and also clearly explained how the aqueduct system worked and the pitfalls of water corruption in Roma societies.
